Logistics Coordinator

Mier Recruitment is hiring! Our client in Dorval, QC is actively looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join their team. Title: Logistics Coordinator Location: Dorval, QC Length of Assignment: Permanent Salary: $45,000-$50,000/year Overview We are currently seeking an experienced LTL Dispatcher who will serve as the first point of contact and communication for incoming calls and dispatching pick-ups to drivers. As a Dispatch Team member, the candidate will be responsible for any and all parts of the process from receiving pick up requests, transmitting messages, and tracking vehicles progress. The candidate must be a strong communicator, able to work well under pressure with little supervision, and believe that the value and strength of a Team comes from the sum of it's parts. Flexibility in scheduling is a must, as is the ability to multi-task. Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they have a strong Customer focus. We offer a competitive salary to include group benefits with an annual profit-sharing bonus. Responsibilities

• Report directly to Dispatch manager or designate
• Receive and record information for all calls received
• Address problems and make requests by communicating with the necessary parties or providing solutions
• Receive calls about deliveries and dispatch pick-ups to drivers
• Multitask and prioritize calls according to their urgency
• Regularly monitor delivery progress and assure timely response within requested timelines
• Providing drivers with vital information about orders, traffic, obstacles, and requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience as a dispatcher or similar position
• Above average typing speed, maintaining accuracy with experience in data entry
• Outstanding organizational skills and multitasking abilities
• Active listener with exceptional communication skills
• Able to work under pressure when required
• Demonstrated knowledge of the geography within the Montreal area.
• Familiar with load limits, and basic transportation rules and regulations.
