Job Description - Manufacturing & Quality Control Engineer

Manufacturing & Quality Control Engineer- Sherbrooke, QC Canada, ONSITE ONLY, Full time
PASQAL designs and develops Quantum Processing Units and dedicated software tools. These innovative processors address applications which are out of the reach of the most powerful existing supercomputers, encompassing real-world challenges as well as fundamental science. As they are very low energy intensive, they will significantly contribute to reduce the carbon footprint of the computing industry.

Our newly constructed Sherbrooke (QC) location will be home to a world-class manufacturing facility. Our multi-disciplinary team is currently working hard and fast to deliver useful, enterprise-grade, quantum computers to our customers, in a safe and controlled environment. This full-time position will be based onsite in our brand-new office, located Espace Quantique 1, at the heart of a brand-new and exciting technology hub.

Due to growth, we are adding a new role to our Team 2 manufacturing team in Sherbrooke. As a Manufacturing & Quality Control Engineer, you will be responsible for developing manufacturing methods to increase productivity, maintain traceability and eliminate production issues during the assembly of the QPU subsystems. Reporting to our Senior Manager - Rapid Manufacturing & Delivery, you will work in collaboration with engineering and supply chain managers. You will be responsible for putting in place and maintaining a quality system for the manufacturing floor, including quality procedures and documentation. This is both a hands on manufacturing role as well as a quality control position. 

Other duties include:

  • Integrate documents from engineering, quality and supply chain to support smooth manufacturing operations and eliminate revision errors.
  • Integrate seamless engineering change request functions into the manufacturing flow.
  • Validate rework procedures to meet quality requirements.
  • Provide support to logistics, installation and maintenance teams to document best practices.
  • Review subcontractors’ compliance to quality system.
  • Measure overall performance of the manufacturing operations to optimize costs and develop continuous improvement strategy including rapid prototyping to reduce bottlenecks.

To be eligible for this role, you will have 5+ years of overall manufacturing experience with recent experience supporting quality control in a manufacturing / production environment in Canada. You are a team player, versatile, organized, pro-active, autonomous and creative in finding pragmatic and efficient solutions.

Other qualities you bring to the table:
Education: 
 Science or Engineering degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • You have a clear vision of how a production floor operates and you demonstrate a knowledge of tools and software solutions for productivity.
  • You understand data exchange between enterprise systems like resource planner, data manager and execution software.
  • You have experience with project management and quality systems.
  • You are comfortable with complex assemblies and multi level bill of materials (BOM).
  • You have a good understanding and hands on experience with document control systems.
  • You demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • You have a strong appetite for problem-analysis and continuous improvement.

    Bonus points for:
  • knowledge of ISO quality requirements
  • Optical or laser experience
  • Experience in scientific equipment manufacturing or deep tech
  • Experience working in a startup environment
  • Technical writing experience
  • Immediate availability with an authorization to work in Canada Pasqal is a global company. Fluency in English is required for this position (written and verbal). French as a second language a plus.
