Job Description - Project Coordinator

Drake International has an exciting opportunity with an established and credible medium-sized construction contractor client . 


Position Overview:
This role will primarily focus on creating and maintaining Building Information Modeling (BIM) documentation for project design and execution, while also supporting Project Managers and construction staff with materials ordering and site logistics organization. Key Responsibilities: VDC Design and Drawing:
Model MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) elements in coordination with other disciplines using worksets, system identities, and considering constructability.
Maintain REVIT central and working models, and utilize BIM 360/Collaborate for coordination with trades and consultants.
Create piping and mechanical room equipment layouts and assess constructability of existing modeling information.
Produce schematic directions and sequences of operations, collaborating directly with consultants and other trades.
Integrate AutoCAD-origin details and schematics, or draw natively within REVIT.
Model and coordinate architectural components as needed to facilitate mechanical equipment installation.
Create project- and task-specific documentation to support construction staff and participate in regular project-specific meetings.

Material and Equipment Logistics:
Create material take-offs from REVIT models and assist in assembling and executing project equipment and material lists.
Communicate delivery timelines to suppliers and site personnel, and track shipments for multiple projects simultaneously.
Prepare shop drawings in coordination with suppliers and project managers.
Oversee weekly assembly of materials at the warehouse and shop organization.

Ongoing Construction Support:
Create project- and task-specific documentation to support construction staff.
Collaborate with other trades to create VDC and participate in project-specific meetings.
Update cloud-based applications (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud) for access by construction staff.

Requirements:
Excellent computer skills with proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD MEP, and MS Office.
Strong technical problem-solving abilities and familiarity with MEP systems and constructability.
Experience with BIM documentation in a construction-execution environment, including cloud-base coordination (i.e., BIM 360/Collaborate).
Ability to troubleshoot and work around known modeling program 'glitches' or malfunctions.
Familiarity with documentation standards and best practices for modeling and documentation creation.
Experience in project management and cost estimating would be considered an asset.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with project teams.
