Job Description - Senior Bilingual Supply Chain Demand Specialist

SUMMARY:
Primary forecasting expert, this position is responsible for using data analysis, business intelligence and reporting tools to forecast and make recommendations on the supply of product to our stores. Working within the Supply Chain Team, the Sr Demand Specialist establishes Store/SKU clustering, seasonal selling profiles and exception reporting criteria for given categories - while making appropriate adjustments as dictated by forecast accuracy. This role works collaboratively with other Supply Chain Analysts in reviewing and resolving forecast exceptions and ensuring the business strategies are implemented and maintained. This role requires to interpret data based on specific statistical criteria and to synthesize the findings from the analysis.
In addition to forecasting responsibilities, the Sr Demand Specialist acts as the leader to a team of Demand Specialists to achieve best-in-class forecasting and fulfill company/supply chain objectives.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help roll out a new forecasting system across grocery banners in Quebec and Ontario. This role participates in strategic process improvements initiatives by analyzing business processes, procedures and monitoring progress – working with various business units to generate best practices and creative/effective business processes. In doing so, the Sr Demand Specialist acts as the direct and primary link with Sr Merchandising executives and is responsible for alignment.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensuring forecast accuracy and system parameters (business rules) for all products within assigned departments/stores.
- Identify and mitigate sources of forecast variance through collaboration with the Supply Chain team.
- Review & analyze historical data and trends to forecast high-level demand
- Develop and provide key reporting metrics (KPI) to various business units and leadership team
- Analyze and present cost benefit analytics to Sr Management on forecast modelling. Provide recommendations on product flow and execution within the Supply Chain network
- Build strong relationship with other business units and Sr Management to develop and ensure business processes execution – as well as provide them with tangible/effective suggestions and strategies
- Capable of building mathematical/machine learning models (AI) to compensate projects/ forecasting purposes
- Provide SAP Super user expertise.
- Provide guidance, training, and supervision to the demand planning team
- Follow best in class and emerging trends in Supply Chain Forecasting analytics; identify process/software improvement opportunities, recommend solutions and actively participate in its execution.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in demand forecasting or supply chain replenishment in an environment with high numbers of store/sku records.
- University Degree in Supply Chain Management /Economics /Business /Engineering /Business Technology – Masters Degree is preferred
- Experience and advanced knowledge of retail forecasting and experience with SAP forecasting systems or other "best in class" platforms is a must.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and/or SQL Server/Postgre SQL
- Advanced knowledge on Python, Spark or equivalent modelling tools, and on graphic tool such as power BI
- Strong analytical skills; able to use statistical software to manipulate and analyze data for recommendations.
- Experience with financial analysis and quantitative skills; able to produce and review sales analysis (turns, sales, gross margin, etc.) and other analytical techniques to assist in making key forecast and replenishment decisions.
- Ability to understand and foresee implications of new information for current and future problem solving.
- Critical thinking and proficiency in business process evaluation and procedure development; demonstrates a thorough knowledge of methodologies and standards for requirements gathering, documentation and analysis.
- Excellent presentation skills; capable of delivering key messages to various audiences and sr. management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work across departments
- Strong customer focus with business acumen, problem solving skills and results orientated
- Preferably 1+ years of having direct reports or mentoring roles
- Bilingual (English / French) required
- Work weekends as necessary
