Our client, a well established, stable, custom goods manufacturer, is seeking a dynamic Logistics Coordinator to join their growing team.  As the Senior Logistics Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our products are shipped out to customers in a timely manner. You will be responsible for coordinating the efforts of various departments, including sales, customer care, production, warehouse, and shipping, to streamline the shipping process and ensure seamless communication between stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively with multiple teams. A positive attitude and great energy are a must.

The Role:

• Work with multiple customers to ensure that all inbound and outbound requests have been booked in a timely manner
• Continually track and updates shipment status to customers
• Work with suppliers and customers to confirm that all expedited loads are booked for the requested timelines
• Resolve any issues that may arise during the shipping or receiving process
• Coordinate the shipping process to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
• Collaborate with sales, customer care, production, warehouse, and shipping departments to address and resolve shipping-related issues.
• Maintain accurate records of shipping schedules, inventory levels, and delivery statuses.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to provide updates and gather necessary information.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of logistics policies and procedures.
• Monitor and manage logistics costs to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Supervise and mentor one logistics team member, providing guidance and support.
• Conduct performance evaluations and set development goals for the logistics team member.
• Develop skills and strategies for managing the entire logistics department.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Successful completion of a post-secondary education (certificate/diploma) in Logistics or Materials Management is an asset
• Experience in a manufacturing or distribution facility is an asset
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to deal directly with others in a professional matter
• Strong organizational, planning, written and verbal communication
• Strong time management skills
• Experience in logistics position is ideal (1-3 years)
• Good computer & communication skills (Excel Word ERP )
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with minimal supervision.
• Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
• Proven experience in a supervisory or team lead role is a plus.
