We are looking for a Workstation Engineer who will work with a variety of users and display a friendly attitude in providing support. A key element in this role is having in-depth knowledge of computer systems and common issues to promptly address all user concerns. Success in this role is demonstrated by providing clear technical support and swiftly resolving desktop and digital workspace issues, along with providing a superior level of user support and an amazing, positive experience.

What You Get To Do:

  • Troubleshoot technology issues, focusing on driving to resolution with a positive user experience.
  • Install and maintain equipment and software and perform remote troubleshooting.
  • Work with key vendor to maintain and upgrade equipment as needed. Order and maintain the right level of inventory.
  • Help manage Windows policies. Monitor the performance of a company's desktop infrastructure and provide suggestions to improve efficiency.
  • Test, install and set up application programs on user workstations. Also test network connections.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ask questions to pinpoint the problem.
  • Help new employees set up their workstations and respond to ad hoc and urgent requests.
  • Help employees leverage the digital workspace by demonstrating how available applications can improve their work experience.
  • Respond to customer inquiries.

Who You Are:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field.
  • 5-8 years' experience in troubleshooting technology issues and focusing on the resolution. Proven work experience as a Desktop Support Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments.
  • Communication skills to provide a superior level of user experience: use your communication skills to effectively work with and interact with a variety of people over a wide geography to provide a positive user experience.
  • Have problem-solving skills to develop solutions for various IT-related issues. Strong problem-solving skills help resolve these problems in a timely manner, all while ensuring the efficient use of a company's resources.
  • Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners. Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs.
  • Follow-up with the user/customer to ensure their needs are met and the problem/issue solved to their satisfaction.
  • Going above “just fixing a problem” by offering help in other related areas where applicable.
  • Report customer/user feedback on potential improvements.
  • Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills.
  • Test alternative pathways until you solve the issue.
  • Being curious and getting to the root cause of issues.
  • Because desktop support engineers work in a team setting, it's important to know how to embrace this type of environment. This means effectively collaborating with your teammates, providing them with support and assistance.
