Business Systems Administrator

Role: Business Systems Administrator 

Duration: Full time 

Salary: Negotiable

Location: North York (On-site)

Our Manufacturing client, is looking to hire a Business Systems Administrator on full time basis, to join their team.

Your New Role: 

The Business Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining and enhancing company operational systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime. This role involves developing procedures to support IT infrastructure and business solutions, ensuring compliance with IT standards and security controls, and working collaboratively with department leaders to drive technological improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in weekly IT strategy meetings, contributing to discussions on current challenges, opportunities, and risks, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Manage relationships with IT service providers and vendors to ensure that the services and products delivered are of high quality and cost-effective.

  • Ensure data backups are maintained for all information systems.
  • Ensure procedures, processes and hardware are in place to address system recovery plans.
  • Enforce compliance with all 3rd party software licensing.
  • Provide support for telecommunication systems.
  • Liaise with outside firms for
    • Hardware
    • Telecommunications and Networking
    • Procurement
    • Projects
  • Provide on-call assistance as required.

Travel as required to perform duties - Toronto, Barrie and Brantford.

  • Oversee/perform preventive maintenance, general repair, installation, troubleshooting and asset management of the following equipment/services.
    • Server and Computer Systems
    • Storage Systems
    • Mobile Phones
    • Network and Network Devices
    • Physical and Virtual Servers
    • Printers
    • UPS
    • WAN Switching & Routing
    • LAN Switching & Routing
    • Telephony
  • Evaluate the current IT infrastructure and identify areas for improvement, optimization, and cost-efficiency.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the performance, scalability, and reliability of the IT infrastructure across multiple locations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess business needs and ensure the IT infrastructure aligns with operational requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively address issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Lead technology refresh initiatives, including hardware and software upgrades, to ensure the infrastructure remains up-to-date and supports business growth.
  • Develop and implement setup/configuration and test procedures, equipment failure reporting, PM audit controls (i.e. virus scans, O/S updates) and related technical documentation/standards of network, network devices, LAN, and PC’s.
  • Maintain up to date technical documentation/standards of network, network devices, LAN’s, WAN, and PC’s.
  • Maintain and enforce all related IT Procedures and Standards.
  • Establish and audit appropriate technical systems controls and cyber security programs.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • 4-year University degree in Computer Science program or equivalent.
  • 5 years IT Network/System Administrator Experience.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals or equivalent experience.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals or equivalent experience.
  • ITIL 4 Foundations or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred - Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Fundamentals (ERP)
  • Preferred - Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Fundamentals (CRM)
  • In depth knowledge of:
    • Network and Data communications.
    • Servers.
    • System Management Activities
    • Active Directory
    • Microsoft Operating System
    • Exchange Server
    • Desktop and Cloud Applications
    • Relational Database Systems
    • Virtualization
  • Solid understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Excellent leadership and time management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple facilities.
  • Experience in capacity planning and performance evaluation of systems.
  • Experience in successful implementation of systems.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with end users of all technical skill levels.
