Job Description:

  • Coach and instruct apprentices
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions
  • Construct foundations for machinery
  • Repair or replace defective machinery parts
  • Supervise other workers
  • Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Perform routine maintenance work on machinery
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to determine work procedures
  • Operate machining tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
  • Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
  • Assembling machinery and equipment (prior to installation)
  • Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation
  • Set-up and repair of machinery Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
  • Construct foundations for machinery or direct other workers to construct foundations
  • Be able to weld to repair defective parts

Requirements:

-Education: Some secondary school is required.

-Experience: At least 3 years of experience in the field is required. If the candidate does not have 3 years of experience, a post-secondary certificate is required.

-The ability to weld is required.

-Driver’s license is an asset

-Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Walking, Large workloads, Attention to detail

-Work Site Environment: Indoors, Outdoors, Hot, Cold/refrigerated, Wet/damp, Dusty, Noisy

-Personal Suitability: Positive attitude, Energetic, Hardworking, Reliability, Organized, Efficiency, Adaptability, Collaborative, Dependability, Team player, Flexibility, Able to prioritize tasks, Safety focused

-Weight Handling: Up to 45kg (100 lbs.)

-Language: English is required.

Salary: $32.86 to $34.86 hourly, 42.5 – 44 Hours per week

Benefits: Dental and health benefits provided. Uniforms and tools will be provided at no cost.

Important Information: The employee will work Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm. The schedule includes 30 minutes of unpaid lunch break and 30 minutes of paid healthy breaks. Flexibility on schedule is required. Shifts may vary according to the business’ needs. Occasional overtime will be required. **We guarantee at least 42.5 hours of work per week during the winter time**
