Service description:
One of the foundations for the upcoming transition of services to cloud-based environments is the development of a reference architecture. The aim is to define and further develop a specification and architecture of the employer cloud stack based on the VMware standard. In addition, integration options for third-party PaaS solutions in the VMware IaaS Cloud are to be demonstrated. Relevant practical experience in integration planning is required.

Tasks:

Based on the product classes of the Gartner taxonomy, feasible xPaaS implementations will be proposed and the effort and feasibility on the given platform will be evaluated. As a result, a detailed list of compatible VMware and third-party PaaS components, their versions and technical requirements will be compiled.
Service package A - IaaS cloud architecture design:

• Creation of a technical cloud architecture concept up to and including the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) layer according to specifications. The architecture target image (reference architecture) is provided by the client as a basis.

• Identification and consideration of automation options based on the VMware Cloud Management Platform (CMP) in accordance with market standards
• Incorporation and consideration of VMware standards and “best practice” industry standards for the VMware Cloud Foundation product in the existing cloud architecture
• Presenting the current work results
• Provision of the work results as technical documentation (detailed concept)
• Presentation of the work results and target group-oriented preparation of the information (rough concept and management presentation)

Service package B - PaaS cloud architecture design

• Creation of a technical cloud architecture concept for the Platform as a Service (PaaS) layer in accordance with the architecture team's specifications. The architecture target image (reference architecture) and the requirements are provided as a basis, with designation of the PaaS services to be considered

• Selection and evaluation of suitable PaaS products with regard to integration capability in the existing cloud architecture
• Consideration, evaluation according to specifications and, if necessary, incorporation of the PaaS services to be tested into the IaaS infrastructure created in service package A
• Description of interfaces between the PaaS products of various manufacturers and VMware Cloud Foundation
• Description, evaluation according to specifications and, if necessary, integration of the automation options for the PaaS products under consideration and integration options in VMware Cloud Management Platform (CMP)
• Consideration and incorporation of VMware standards and best practice Industry standards for the VMware Cloud Foundation product
• Provision of the work results as technical documentation (detailed concept)
• Presentation of the work results and preparation (rough concept and management presentation

Qualification requirements:

1. ITIL: ITIL Foundation v.3 certification or higher

2. Certification in project management ICB (IPMA), Level D or equivalent , e.g. PMBOK (PMI), CAPM, PRINCE2 Practitioner

3. Certification in TOGAF 9

4. Certification in COBIT 5

5. VMware Certified Advanced Professional Cloud Management and Automation (VCAP-CMA)

6 VMware Certified Advanced Professional Data Center Virtualization (Design) (VCAP-DCV)

7. VMware Certified Advanced Professional Network Visualization (Design) (VCAP-NV)

8 Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

Language skills:

• German Level C1 - Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)
• Basic knowledge of English (reading)

Experience requirements:
1. Planning/conceptualization/creation of designs for the VMware Cloud platform (min. 5 years)
2. Technical consulting and support of projects in architecture issues (min. 5 years)
3. Implementation of the VMware Cloud Foundation (min. 3 years)
4. Technical consulting for companies regarding the introduction of cloud computing (min. 5 years)
5. Experience with container technologies especially Kubernetes (VMware Tanzu) (min. 3 years)
6. Knowledge of HCI infrastructure (Dell VxRail, VxRack) (min. 3 years)
7. Knowledge of connecting the HCI and VMware Cloud Foundation to the existing data center infrastructure (min. 3 years)
8. Knowledge in the conception of a cloud platform on the VMware Validated Designs (VVD) basis using VMware Cloud products (vRealize) as well as container technology such as Pivotal & Docker (min. 3 years)
9. Knowledge in setting up and connecting cloud back office systems (IAM, DDI, Microsoft Server) (min. 3 years)
10. Knowledge of the cloud operator model and the relevant reference architectures (cloud operator model, NIST, etc.) (min. 3 years)
