If you are a strong leader with years of supervisory experience in a production facility, we have an amazing opportunity for you. Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact As part of our Nuclear Waste Management portfolio, Kinectrics is seeking an experienced individual to run our Nuclear Laundry Facility. As Plant Manager you will oversee the operation of a 40,000 square foot state-of-the-art laundry facility, processing, and manufacturing PPE for Canada's Nuclear facilities. Supported by staff of 130 personnel on 3 shifts during peak periods, your drive and tenacity will ensure safe operations while providing our customers with vital PPE on a just in time basis. You will be responsible for all aspects of plant performance including staffing, customer satisfaction, safety, quality, production and throughput, environmental compliance, and overall profitability. This plant's efficient operation is critical to the Canadian Nuclear industry, and Kinectrics is committed to investing in continuous improvements to meet growing throughput and efficiency targets. General Accountabilities: Performance and Leadership:
  • Ensure that the plant is aligned and operating in accordance with the Vision, Values, Culture and Behaviours of Kinectrics
  • Ensure that the plant meets customers' requirements in a safe, environmentally friendly, and efficient manner.
  • Grow the business by increasing the services to the Canadian Nuclear industry.
  • Enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of plant operations by leading investment in the plant and equipment and streamlining operations.
  • Manage a leadership team comprised of Production Manager, Continuous Improvement Manager, Maintenance Manager, and Operation Support staff.
  • Ensure leadership team is developing the staff to provide an efficient, and reliable service, while enhancing morale and engagement
  • Maintain a motivated workforce including hiring, promotion, performance reviews, pay increases, staff development and disciplinary actions in accordance with established policies, procedures, and applicable Collective Agreements.
Culture Development:
  • Drives a culture of high performance where everyone is committed to and accountable for delivery of performance goals and site KPIs, ensuring a customer and Safety-First culture.
  • Act as champion to front-line management, empowering them as drivers of culture change.
  • Establishes individual goals in line with corporate/departmental objectives, coaching and challenging plant leadership team to deliver results.
  • Creates and maintains a positive and respectful culture focused on worker morale and corporate social responsibility.
  • Embed a culture of continuous improvement focused on customer satisfaction, throughput, and profitability.
Health, Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensures a culture of Right the First Time/Safety First and that all operations are conducted in compliance with applicable regulations including CNSC requirements.
  • Ensures buildings, infrastructure, manufacturing lines and machinery/equipment in an operational state to OpEx standards, including planned maintenance, unplanned/emergency maintenance, and execution of the work orders.
  • Work to enhance and maintain quality in all aspects of plant operations.
Financial:
  • Meet the agreed financial objectives, including monthly profitability, preparing an annual budget and 3-year plan.
  • Meet the budgeted cash flow targets, including CAPEX investments.
What You Need to Succeed Performance and Leadership:
  • Established leader who can successfully interface and communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership among a team of individuals with diverse skill sets aligning them to exceed organizational goals.
  • Minimum 10 years related experience, including at least 8 years supervisory experience in a production facility.
  • A degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
Culture Development:
  • A strong commitment to employee involvement, team building and diversity.
  • Ability to build and maintain the working relationships with our customers at all levels.
  • Strong decision-making and people management skills.
Health, Safety and Compliance:
  • Proven problem-solving skills in improving efficiency, reliability, productivity, quality, cost, safety, and morale in an operating facility.
  • Demonstrated experience working with safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes.
Management and Continuous Improvement:
  • Strong plant operating experience in similar plants or operations of similar complexity
  • Proficient in use and application of LEAN tools as they apply to a production facility would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to act as a spokesperson and community ambassador for Kinectrics.
  • Willing to take on new tasks of varying complexity.
  • A track record in driving continuous improvement.
  • Computer literacy.
