Our client, a designer/manufacturer and global integrator of welding and assembly systems and material handling systems, is searching for a PLC Programmer to join their team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Focus on PLC systems design and specifications, including bill of materials, wiring schematics, programming, simulation, testing, installation, start-up, and troubleshooting of equipment and systems at company locations and customer sites
- Programming customized equipment such as Battery Tray Assembly and Battery Assembly and Test Systems, Leak Test Equipment, Industrial Parts Washers and Material Handling Automation
- Problem-solve with an experienced team from mechanical and controls engineering and skilled trades manufacturing, throughout the entire programming, tryout, and installation phases
- Perform PLC logic and programming duties at our build locations during the build and debug stage, at customer locations during installation and launch phases, and introduce programming improvements in controls and logic systems that are consistent with customer changes or manufacturing needs
- De-bug, tryout and verify I/O signals and interference zones in the system, and document controls logic changes with our engineering team
- Lead training of PLC end-users at customer locations and represent Valiant TMS utilizing results-driven problem-solving skill
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- A completed college or university program in Electrical Engineering/Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Robotic Studies or another similar field of study
- Experience or interest in designing, installing, commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting pneumatic, mechanical and electronic automated equipment in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- A proven ability to work well within a team-based work environment, prioritizing plans of action to accomplish objectives
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally to customer locations
