Within the test facilities mechanical engineering team, your role will be to contribute to:

  • Design/develop mechanical equipment and systems for the testing and certification of aircraft engines and components
    • Develop conceptual solutions for test equipment requirements
    • Produce 3D models, detailed drawings of equipment and P&ID diagrams of systems
    • Manage the procurement, assembly, validation of mechanical equipment / systems
    • Define preventative maintenance and lifecycle requirements for mechanical test equipment / systems
  • Supervise installation work
  • Deliver final engineering drawings
  • Organize equipment availability, minor modifications, validation and calibration of equipment prior to testing
  • Be a technical reference for the engine maintenance and testing groups by l eading troubleshooting of support equipment during engine testing
  • Respond to internal service calls
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the department

Assets - What you need to be successful in this role:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, CATIA or SolidWorks
  • Strong Knowledge of Geometric Tolerancing and Design
  • Measurement, metrology experience
  • Desire to innovate

  • Experience in managing contractors and/or teams
  • Proficient in English

Your Goals as a Project Engineer:

The candidate will be called upon to work with a multidisciplinary team made up of mechanical and electrical engineers, technicians and technical designers. The objective is to carry out projects which develop mechanical equipment/systems required to develop new engine programs in component rig and test cells environments.

What your daily activities will look like:

  • Lead research, development, design and validation of mechanical equipment or systems by communicating with stakeholders to ensure that business objectives, requirements and specifications are met.
  • Represent the organization at meetings, committees, conferences, and interdisciplinary team work to present, explain or defend recommendations, findings, or other negotiations or agreements.
  • Ensure that standards are followed and that the quality of work is met.
  • Analyze the technical requirements, capacity, costs, and customer needs to determine the feasibility of the project.
  • Design Mechanical and/or automated components, software, products, or systems.
  • Produce an implementation schedule and plans project budgets to deliver them according to the time and cost established with the client.
  • Direct and coordinates the manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, operation or modification of mechanical and automated systems or equipment.
  • Supervise the implementation activities of new technologies and ensures their integration into all systems.
  • Provide technical training to junior engineers and other trades.
