Job Description - Clerk Messenger

Clerk | Messenger Location Penticton, BC : We are seeking a Casual Clerk | Messenger at Penticton Regional Hospital in Penticton, BC. Days of work: Monday to Friday, Days Shift times: 08:00 to 13:30 This is a casual position. Casual means hours are not guaranteed and that days of work and shift times may vary. This position performs a variety of distribution tasks such as picking up and delivering various items, sorting and distributing mail and photocopying. Typical duties include:
Picks up, sorts and delivers a variety of items such as specimens, requisitions, x-ray films, various pharmaceutical items (non-controlled) and any other article that can be moved and transported on a messenger cart.
Sorts, picks up and distributes incoming and outgoing mail.
Sorts, files and pulls papers, documents, films, charts, and other data, assigns file numbers; types labels.
Operates photocopying equipment and performs equipment maintenance such as toner replacement and minor problems as described in the owner's manual.
Participates in continuous quality improvement activities by performing duties such as providing input/feedback to the Manager (or designate) on work procedures and opportunities for process improvement.
Assists with orienting new staff by performing duties such as demonstrating work procedures and demonstrating use of equipment.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
