Content Strategist

Frostbite is EA’s proprietary game engine that comes equipped with tons of tools and technologies designed to build incredible games. Our in-house engine offers the unique ability to adapt to each game while working hand-in-hand to prioritize what to build. As a  Content Strategist you will research, organize, create, and manage documentation to help those working on EA games learn how to use Frostbite. You will report to the Frostbite Managing Editor and work side-by-side with Frostbite Technical Writers, Engineers, and subject matter experts. A successful engagement/project is when you bring creative solutions to partners and help them share their knowledge in the most effective way for learners. Documentation encompasses words, images, videos, diagrams, and animations that could be found on wikis, Google sites, comments in code, GitLab or as a generative AI data source.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Managing Editor to research and scope documentation projects. Partner with UX research and support team to identify problem areas, establish success criteria, and recommendations. 
• Provide a blend of creativity, analysis, and industry expertise on how to implement scalable, full lifecycle content management practices.
• With guidance, design learning paths, information architectures, or content models within an evolving, collaborative culture where everyone creates and shares documentation.
• With guidance, guide consensus on project objectives and content governance plans to support priorities.
• Represent the needs of learners and writers (contributors) in decisions around content management systems and practices.
• Build awareness of newly created and updated documentation across EA.

Who you are

• 3+ years of software or online technical writing experience within a technology organization
• 2+ years of project management experience, with the ability to organize tasks
• Experience designing information architecture, content models, or learning experiences
• Experience working in a collaborative, Agile development environment
• Experience using a content management system (CMS) or similar knowledge management systems to create, and deliver documentation
• Experience planning, creating and organizing user-centric technical documentation
• Experience translating technical concepts into written, video, and visual formats

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs. BASE SALARY RANGES • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
º $96,400 - $133,900 CAN Annually Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
