Position Overview The Director of Information Technology is a strategic and pivotal role that focuses on the oversight and management of Weldco’s Information Technology (IT) infrastructure and team. This individual will ensure that IT systems not only support but enhance operational efficiencies and strategic objectives across all departments. The Director of IT will be responsible for the proactive management of the technology landscape, anticipating needs, and steering the organization away from potential IT-related disruptions. Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning Develop and implement a cohesive IT strategy that aligns with the organization’s overall business goals. Stay ahead of new trends and innovations in technology to foster forward-thinking strategies. Prepare and manage the IT department's annual budget to ensure resources are allocated appropriately. Operations Management Oversee the daily operations of IT systems to ensure reliability, stability, and efficiency. Manage IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Supervise the maintenance, installation, and upgrading of IT systems and infrastructure. Risk Management and Compliance Proactively identify vulnerabilities and risks in the IT infrastructure to prevent potential issues. Implement comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies affecting IT operations. Leadership and Team Management Lead, motivate, and support the IT team in a dynamic environment. Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality. Manage staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, and evaluation. Cross-Departmental Collaboration Work collaboratively with other department heads to facilitate the integration of IT with overall business processes. Advocate for and support the implementation of technology solutions that increase efficiency and enhance productivity across the organization. Regularly report to senior management on IT performance metrics and project status. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. Experience 5-8 years of experience in IT management, with a proven track record in a leadership role. Extensive experience with IT operations, strategic planning, and project management. Demonstrated ability in leading IT transformation projects and cross-functional teams. Skills and Abilities Strong leadership and decision-making skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse range of individuals and groups. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing conditions. Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.
