Director of Project Delivery

Job Title: Director of Project Delivery / Director of Operations - Construction Location: Burlington, Ontario Job Summary: We are seeking a seasoned and strategic-minded Director of Project Delivery / Director of Operations to join our clients leadership team. The ideal candidate will oversee the execution and delivery of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a leader with extensive experience in construction management, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the project delivery team, ensuring projects are delivered according to plan, scope, and quality requirements.
• Develop and implement project management methodologies, standards, and tools to ensure consistent and efficient project execution.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to address any issues.
• Oversee the daily operations of the construction division, ensuring efficient and effective workflows and processes.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures that enhance productivity and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Optimize resource allocation, including manpower, materials, and equipment, to maximize efficiency and project profitability.
• Contribute to the development of the companys strategic goals and objectives, particularly as they relate to project delivery and operational excellence.
• Analyze market trends, industry developments, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decision-making and identify growth opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met and cost controls are in place.
• Monitor project financial performance, providing regular reports to the executive team and stakeholders.
• Implement cost-saving measures and value engineering techniques to enhance project profitability.
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing project delivery and operations team.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Identify and address training and development needs to enhance team capabilities and career growth.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Address and resolve any client or stakeholder issues that arise during the project.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction management, with a proven track record in a leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of construction processes, project management methodologies, and industry best practices.
• Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore).
• PMP, CCM, or similar project management certification is a plus.
• Ability to conduct site visits, including navigating uneven terrain and construction sites.
• Ability to sit for extended periods while working on operational and strategic planning.
