With a focus on delivering top-tier services and products, the company provides a comprehensive range of wireless solutions and technology services & products to meet the diverse needs of their customers. Overview of the General Manager (GM) Role This is an outstanding GM opportunity for an executive who would like to lead a profitable, market leading business that has ambitious international growth opportunities. Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to lead and expand the international business segment of the firm, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Office. The General Manager will be instrumental in shaping the business plan and operational tactics necessary to drive robust growth trajectories and effectively attain the specified financial goals. The ideal candidate for this role must possess strategic acumen, outstanding leadership qualities, extensive experience in international business, and a demonstrated history of effectively managing intricate operations. Key Responsibilities Develop and Execute Business Plan: Strategy Development : Finalize the business plan and operational strategy for the company’s international business, including: scaling the international segment, customer acquisition strategy and ongoing innovation of the products and services. Market Analysis & Enhancement : Examine and enhance the existing go-to-market strategy in multiple international territories, aiming to broaden the reach and enhance the conversion rates of immigrants and visitors bound for Canada. Global Expansion : Replicate effective operational processes to diversify product offerings in all the target countries. Agile Business Management: Continuously adapt and modify business requirements as needed to ensure adherence to regulatory standards while fostering sustainable growth. Financial Management: P&L Responsibility: Proactively manage the Profit and Loss (P&L) statements for the international business to ensure financial targets, including net profitability, are met, and exceeded. Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze financial performance, trends, strengths, and weaknesses and develop strategies to optimize revenue and cost efficiency. Ensure regulatory compliance : Ensure that the international business adheres to local and regional compliance requirements. This involves staying updated on regulations, implementing necessary measures to support legal operations and profitable growth. Talent Management and Staffing Strategy: Strategy Building : Develop and execute a comprehensive talent management and staffing strategy for the international business, both domestically and internationally. Top-Performers Retention: Recruit, develop, and retain top-performing individuals to build a skilled and motivated team. Performance Management: Establish performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide coaching and mentoring to drive employee growth and development. Marketing and Communications Strategy: Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement a robust marketing and communications strategy to promote international offerings. Collaborate with the marketing team: to create targeted campaigns and initiatives that drive customer acquisition and enhance brand awareness in international markets. Market Analysis: Leverage market insights and competitor analysis to identify unique selling propositions and develop compelling value propositions for customers. Technology Integration : Leverage technology tools and platforms to automate and optimize various aspects of the international business operations, such as sales, marketing, and customer service, enabling to better measure the effectiveness of its international business efforts. Partner Strategy: Strategic Partnership: Identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships and alliances to support international business growth objectives. Network Building : Build a comprehensive infrastructure and network of agents, agencies, and partners across diverse geographical regions to establish client as the preferred vendor in international markets. Relationship Nurturing: Foster enduring and meaningful relationships with partners, agents, agencies, and other stakeholders, nurturing trust, and collaboration to expand market reach and enhance the quality of service offerings consistently. Post Sales Strategy: Ensure the business plan incorporates a robust post-sales network strategy, facilitating cross-selling and upselling opportunities for products and services tailored to the needs of immigrants and visitors. Compliance and Growth: Regulatory Compliance : Ensure compliance with local and international regulations and laws in all international markets where the company operates, promptly taking necessary actions to meet legal requirements and mitigate risks. Strategic Partnership Development: Cultivate and strengthen the strategic relationship between the client and strategic partners, with a specific focus on advancing the international business program and mutually beneficial value propositions for both organizations. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Performance Evaluation: Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to comprehensively monitor and evaluate the performance of the international business segment, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and strategies. Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly assess progress against established targets, meticulously compiling accurate and timely reports to the Executive Leadership Team, accompanied by insightful analysis and actionable recommendations to maintain course or implement corrective actions as necessary. Data Driven Decision Making : Leverage data-driven insights derived from comprehensive analysis to facilitate informed decision-making processes, proactively identifying areas for enhancement, and implementing strategies to optimize overall business performance and efficacy. Key Requirements: As an experienced professional you will have: Education Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a related field is required, with preference given to candidates holding an MBA or advanced degree. Leadership Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 5 years in executive roles related to international business operations. As the General Manager, the successful candidate will demonstrate: Professional Competencies: Strategic Planning and Execution : Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans that foster business growth and enhance profitability. Financial Acumen: Demonstrated financial acumen and experience managing budgets, profit and loss statements, and financial analysis. Expansion Planning : Proven experience in driving international business expansion, including market entry, partner management, and revenue growth. Customer Acquisition : Proficient in strategizing and executing plans to attract and secure new customers with ability to identify target markets and effectively engage prospects. Team Management Excellence : Exceptional team management skills, with a focus on talent acquisition, development, and retention. Organizational Proficiency : Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment. Analytical Mindset : Ability to utilize data and insights effectively to inform decision-making processes and drive performance optimization through analytical approaches.
