Job Description - Manager, Events & Operations

The Manager, Events & Operations role will provide event management and execution of all operational functions and services, ensuring seamless day to day functionality and project management of all events. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will champion our project management system - Clickup, bringing it up to the status that we need to manage the day to day operations while supporting the event planning on key projects. Position: 6 mths Contract, Full-time (with strong opportunity to become FT permanent) Start: July 2024 (however, we’re searching for the right person so this is flexible) Experience Required: Minimum 5 years in similar position Compensation: based off an annual salary of $71,500 Does this sound like you?

Responsibilities The Manager, Events & Operations will manage all aspects of the day to day event executions and deliver excellence alongside a small team
  • Work with our 3rd party partner and revamp the existing operational workflows (Clickup)
  • Assist CEO with completion of the Operational Guide and Client Onboarding
  • Supporting strategic goals and priorities by innovatively managing resources.
  • Work closely with the team to ensure the flawless execution of programs
  • Successfully manage and operate programs of all sizes, on-site and remotely.
  • Maintain the highest level of business and personal integrity with clients, suppliers, industry and office colleagues.
  • Create budgets, negotiate contracts with vendors, monitor expenses, and develop payment schedules for the clients to follow.
  • Manage involvement of vendors in EbD network of professionals if applicable
  • Develop timelines, production schedules, and coordinate logistical details.
  • On-site Management: Oversee setup, execution, and on site production, serving as a main point of contact for vendors and venue staff.
  • Work alongside our designated event producer on site to execute seamlessly
  • Post-Event Evaluation: Assess event success, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement to assist CEO with contract renewals
Qualifications
  • Post Secondary diploma/degree in Meetings & Event Management, Special Events Coordination, Sport & Event Marketing or related field….
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in similar role
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Clickup or any similar project management software
  • Leadership Skills with ability to delegate responsibilities to junior coordinators
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all deliverables.
  • Proven results working with creative and production agencies.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Ability to travel, as required.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and can manage expectations with clear communication
  • Legally able to work in Canada
