The Simpson-Caputo Commodity Futures Group of RBC Dominion Securities in Waterloo, Ontario is seeking an individual who is looking to build a career in the financial industry.  This role will support an established Investment Advisory Team who specializes in commodity futures. The successful candidate will assistant the Associate Advisor and report directly to the Investment Advisor. 

What will you do?

  • Prospecting, cold calling, and attendance at trade shows (travel will be required throughout Canada) as well as Ontario farm visits

  • Follow up telephone calls to potential clients and subsequent introduction of prospects to the Investment Advisor

  • Expand our team’s exposure both within RBC (Wealth IAs, private bankers, private council) and outside RBC with greater focus on Ag and Food Service bankers, Consultants, Accountants, Lawyers, CAFA members

  • Creation and organization of PowerPoint presentations, marketing material, mailers and newsletters to COI’s

  • Organizing webinars and in-house presentations and plan a larger winter presentation with a guest speaker

  • Manage Team’s social media as per RBC DS guidelines

  • Provide team with a detailed weekly marketing plan of what activities are scheduled for the week as well as a general Monthly marketing calendar of planned events

  • Administrative Support during the onboarding process for new accounts and/or updating older accounts

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • Substantial working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Experience and/or comfortable with public speaking

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and multi task

  • Futures and Options Licensing or be willing to complete your licensing withing a specified time period

Nice to Have
