Job Description - Materials Planner

We are currently searching for an energetic, motivated Materials Planner to join our Team!

 
POSITION SCOPE:

The Materials Planner is responsible for the timely replenishment of raw materials and packaging to support the execution of the production schedule facilitating a minimum fill rate of 98.5% while managing warehouse space constraints and inventory turns.  

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • ·            Works closely with the Senior Buyer to ensure optimal replenishment of componentry to support forecast and production schedule fulfilment.
    ·            Analyzes MRP demand and enter requisitions accordingly for approval.
    ·            Generates Purchase Orders and ensure adequate follow up, expediting or delaying of order as required to support the production schedule.
    ·            Works with Senior Buyer to ensure Purchase Order pricing is accurate.
    ·            Words with Senior Buyer, IQC and Suppliers to address NCR’s in a timely manner.
    ·            Maintain ETA accuracy in Syspro and on Material Shortage Report. 
    ·            Clearing backordered PO’s as required.
    ·            Mitigate or minimize excess and obsolescence through effective inventory management.
    ·            Ensure proper receiving of materials with regards to quantity and price and resolve any invoice discrepancies.
    ·            Manage ETA of ocean and cross border shipments and enter freight PO’s as required for payment.
    ·            Engages in daily and weekly team meetings to communicate on material status to mitigate risks to production.
    ·            Coordinates with suppliers, internal departments and support staff to achieve team and Company goals and timelines. 
    ·            Achieves established goals as outlined by Senior Buyer and/or department leader. 
    ·            In coordination with R&D and Regulatory departments, ensures compliance with existing and prospective vendors.
    ·            Act as a backfill for other members on the team.
    ·            Other duties/projects as assigned.

 JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 3+ years’ experience required; experience in liquid fill componentry preferred; experience in pharmaceutical industry and asset; University degree in related field required; Specialized Training or regulatory licenses an asset; SCMP designation an asset; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Excel; familiarity with online sourcing tools
