Job Description - Personal Lines Marketing Broker

As a Personal Lines Marketing Broker, you're the linchpin between our clients and their insurance needs. Your role is two-fold: marketing wizard and account executive extraordinaire. You'll be the conduit, ensuring seamless communication between clients and our brokerage, as well as between our brokerage and underwriters. You'll thrive in our paperless environment, mastering various insurer portals and harnessing the power of Applied Rating Services.

Hours Perks and other Awesome Stuff:

  • Pay: $55-65,000 DOQ
  • 3% RRSP
  • Benefit plan
  • Annual Bonus plan
  • Cost of living raises
  • Monday - Friday
  • 9-6 PM (8.5 : 1 hour lunch) or 8 hours (30 min lunch)
  • Located on a bus route
  • Almost no Autopac involved
  • Existing book of business

Responsibilities and Duties:

Marketing/Processing:

  • New Business: Forge new client relationships by crafting tailored insurance solutions.
  • Renewals (begin 60 days in advance): Proactively manage renewals to enhance client satisfaction.
  • Endorsements: Skillfully process policy changes, leaving no room for error.
  • Update RTC’s: Keep meticulous records of client interactions and transactions.
  • Insurance Documentation Review: Be the gatekeeper of regulatory compliance and client expectations.
  • Determine When to Remarket a Risk: Strategically reevaluate coverage options to maximize value.
  • Coverage Review to Offer Recommendations/Alternatives: Provide expert advice on insurance alternatives.

Administration:

  • Client Setup and Maintenance in Broker Software Management System: Efficiently handle client profiles.
  • Track Renewal Process of Book of Business: Be the timekeeper of renewal deadlines and requirements.
  • Download Insurance Company Documentation: Retrieve and organize critical documents.
  • Invoice, Letters, Payments: Execute financial transactions with precision and professionalism.
  • Premium Finance Arrangements: Facilitate payment plans when needed.
  • Certificate Issuance: Deliver certificates promptly and accurately.
  • Develop New Business Opportunities/Leads: Actively seek growth avenues for the brokerage.
  • Attend Industry and Brokerage Functions: Network and stay updated on industry dynamics.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Level 2 General Insurance License: Mastery of insurance regulations.
  • Certified Autopac On-Line Operator
  • CAIB, CIP, or CRM Designation an Asset
  • 2 Years’ Experience in Personal Lines Broking
  • Keen Attention to Detail
  • Exceptional Organizational and Time Management Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
