Project Engineer

Our client in the Automotive industry is looking for a Project Engineer to support their upcoming projects. Description:

• Daily meetings with Engineering group to highlight top 3 items for the day
• Work closely with production, maintenance and QC groups to solve safety, quality, productivity, and cost problems
• Work with paint shop to investigate and solve quality issues and outflow prevention
• Support body accuracy and weld quality activity throughout the shop
• Create schedules, specifications for new equipment or equipment modifications
• Support materials delivery automation projects involving AGV’s, auto tow motor, auto forklift, or other new technologies.
• Lead cross functional zone meeting twice weekly to review top priorities for the team
• Analyze equipment logs and downtime data to develop PM systems or process improvements
• Coordinating and work with external skilled trades and construction vendors
• Process and equipment evaluation, specifications, procurement and implementation
• Support process and equipment trials on weekdays and weekends
• Lead PSHSR process for new and modified equipment utilizing external reviewer
• Root cause analysis and implementation of countermeasures for safety, quality, and ergonomic concerns
• Automation troubleshooting and cycle time reduction
• Ensure equipment and systems comply with relevant standards and legislation
• Support equipment improvements and refurbishment on weekdays and weekends

Top Skills: Mechanical, automation, project management, project engineering, weld shop, weld inspection, project scheduling Additional Skills & Qualifications: Problem solving skills with cross functional teams (production, quality, maintenance) Decision making NICE TO HAVE:

• Someone who has previous Toyota experience is preferred (even co-op experience would be good)
• Bodyweld or Robotics
