Openprovider is an ICANN-accredited domain registrar and technology company founded in 2004 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Now we are a team of 70+ people, working fully remotely from all over the world. About the role
We are looking for a Manager Legal & Compliance who will:
Provide strategic legal counsel and guidance to protect the legal interests and integrity of the company while enabling its growth and success in the dynamic Domain/Tech industry.
Deliver proactive and pragmatic legal solutions that support business objectives, mitigate risks, and uphold the highest standards of legal and ethical conduct across all Openprovider's entities.
Participate in Policy drafts with regulatory bodies like ICANN/ Government agencies affecting the sector and therefore the company.
Creating and reviewing internal and external policies;
Creating, reviewing, and negotiating agreements of all forms, such as terms and conditions, consumer contracts, commercial contracts, licensing agreements, accreditation agreements, service agreements and others;
Providing advice to all departments of the company with regard to human resources, security policy, product development, marketing activities, Internet policy and compliance;
Coordinating all the external legal consultants in the Netherlands, Spain, and India;
Managing legal disputes, claims, and litigation matters effectively, whether through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation, to achieve favourable outcomes while minimising legal exposure and costs;
Ensuring GDPR compliance and data protection across all aspects of the organization's operations.
Bachelor or Master degree from an accredited law school;
Minimum of 7 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on technology, intellectual property, or corporate law;
Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a legal department or law firm, with demonstrated success in leading and developing a team of legal professionals;
Experience with the domain/hosting/tech industry is highly preferred;
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences;
Fluent English;
