The Ministry of Energy and Minerals is responsible for sustaining the interests of Albertans through the stewardship and responsible development of energy and mineral resource systems.
For more information on the work of our Ministry, please visit: The Strategy and Market Access Division is responsible for the department’s strategic direction with a focus on energy security and market access, climate policy, development of a lower carbon natural gas value chain and clean energy investment attraction. It is also responsible for the policy and legislative coordination process and agencies, boards, and commissions.
Reporting to Director, Regulatory Affairs, the Senior Regulatory Analyst will be an in-house subject matter expert on regulated industries within Alberta’s energy markets. You will support the Director and Executive Director within the Strategy and Market Access Division, as well as other branches, in order to develop strategies and successfully advocate for Alberta’s interests and objectives. You will play a critical role in supporting Alberta Energy & Minerals’ long-term efforts to ensure the province’s secure energy future and Albertans receive full value for the resources they own. The position operates with a high-degree of independence and is expected to stay abreast of evolving industry dynamics, complete thorough research, and put forward appropriate recommendations with the rationale for the recommendation clearly articulated. University graduation in a related field with minimum 4 years of progressively responsible related experience working in a regulatory role. Equivalencies will be accepted on the basis of a related two-year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and a minimum of six years relevant experience.
