Overview Our client is seeking a Senior Technician to fulfill the roles of Production Foreman or Installation within their electrical engineering and design team. The ideal candidate will be client-facing, overseeing installations, and making design adjustments where necessary. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders on-site, and the capability to make calculated decisions regarding changes to installations. The Senior Technician will have a comprehensive understanding of rules and regulations governing marine electrical systems and will primarily work on new ship builds. Responsibilities

• Oversee Installations: Lead on-site installation teams during new ship builds, ensuring that electrical systems are installed according to design specifications and industry standards.
• Design Adjustments: Make adjustments to electrical designs as necessary based on site conditions, client requirements, and regulatory considerations.
• Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for clients during installations, addressing their concerns, providing progress updates, and resolving any issues that arise.
• Compliance and Regulation: Ensure that all installations comply with relevant rules, regulations, and classification society requirements governing marine electrical systems.
• Decision-Making: Make calculated decisions regarding changes to installations, weighing factors such as cost, schedule, safety, and client satisfaction.
• Communication: Effectively communicate with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities via Teams, Email, and MS Office tools.
• AutoCAD Experience (Nice to Have): Utilize AutoCAD software to make design adjustments and modifications as needed to support installation activities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a leadership role overseeing installations, preferably within the marine or shipbuilding industry.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and components, with experience in marine electrical engineering and design.
• Familiarity with rules and regulations governing electrical installations.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with collaboration tools such as Teams.
• AutoCAD experience is a plus, enabling the candidate to make design adjustments and modifications as necessary.
