Senior Program Director to lead the strategic implementation of the Zero Trust security framework.
Our public sector client is looking for a Senior Program Director to lead the strategic implementation of the Zero Trust security framework.
Initially 2-year contract with chances of extension. Fully remote within BC with occasional travel to the office when needed.
Must have:
- Current or former Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), VP, or Senior Cyber Security Director with proven experience leading large-scale cybersecurity projects, with budgets in the tens of millions of dollars.
- 15+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including roles in management and senior leadership.
- Extensive experience in implementing and managing Identity and Access Management (IAM) programs.
- Strong background in Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), Security Operations, and IT Disaster Recovery.
Nice to have:
- Public sector experience
- Deep understanding of ISO 27002, NIST CSF, and COBIT frameworks.
- Proven track record of achieving high adoption rates for cybersecurity initiatives (e.g., Multi-Factor Authentication).
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to deliver projects on time and under budget.
- Experience with regulatory compliance, such as PCI DSS and SOC audits.
- Certifications such as CISSP or CISM
Scope of work:
- Lead cross-functional teams to implement Zero Trust technologies and processes in alignment with the organizations Zero Trust strategy.
- Oversee the program budget and the vendor relationships for key vendors who are supporting the implementation of Zero Trust.
- Manage and mitigate risks associated with the implementation of the program.
- Lead organizational change management and training programs to promote a culture of security and the adoption of Zero Trust security principles.
- Preparing and participating in executive and board presentations with updates and regular reporting on the Zero Trust program
- Ensure continuous improvement and alignment with emerging cybersecurity trends and technologies.
