Division: Integrated Services for Newcomers 


Program: Employment & Entrepreneurship Services - WorkBC Employment Services


Employment Type: Temporary Full-Time (35 hours/week), this position is expected to end on September 30, 2026

About the Position:


The Employment Readiness Program Specialist delivers in Motion & Momentum+ (IM&M+), a 10-week pre-employability program designed for BCEA clients experiencing complex barriers such as long-term unemployment, poverty, trauma, mental health challenges, or systemic exclusion.  The Employment Readiness Program Specialist must be in agreement with IM&M+ and belief in the guiding principles of the program. The IM&M+ program is delivered in three progressive modules. It takes a readiness-first approach, helping participants build motivation, confidence, and resilience before moving toward employment or training. 



The WorkBC Centre Richmond is committed to creating a welcoming, accessible, inclusive, and culturally appropriate environment to offer IM&M+ to BCEA clients. The Employment Readiness Program Specialist plays a vital role in supporting participants as they rebuild confidence, reconnect with strengths, and move toward meaningful personal, educational, or employment goals. 



Reports to: Centre Manager



Key Duties and Responsibilities:


Program Facilitation: 



  • Deliver pre-employability training cohorts by following IM&M+ guiding principles and approaches using experiential and activity-based learning (training, facilitation materials, participant resources, and training packages to be provided) 



  • Facilitate group sessions virtually, in person or as a hybrid for cohorts of 6-12 participants in a supportive and trauma-informed environment 



  • Lead structured activities, guided reflections, and group discussions to build self-awareness, momentum, and future direction 



  • Adapt facilitation strategies to different learning styles, readiness levels, and participant needs 



  • Provide one-on-one encouragement and check-ins to support confidence-building and goal development 



  • Support consistent attendance and engagement throughout the program 



  • Identify participant needs and provide referrals to WorkBC services and community resources 


Administrative: 



  • Active promotion of IM&M+ and recruitment of suitable BCEA recipients, including outreaching to community services, readiness screening and client registration for the program 



  • Complete required documentation, including attendance, progress notes, WorkBC registration updates, and milestone tracking 



  • Prepare IM&M+ materials, digital tools, and learning space for participants 



  • Maintain resources and program supplies to ensure consistent delivery quality 



  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry following program and WorkBC standards 



  • Participate in mandatory IM&M+ training and ongoing delivery support provided by Canadian Career Development Foundation (CCDF) 



Education, Training and Experience:



  • Minimum 2 years of experience in human services, employment services, counselling, social work, or a related field 



  • Experience facilitating group programs with diverse or multi-barriered individuals 



  • Experience supporting individuals facing poverty or complex life challenges 



  • Experience with community resources and services in Richmond is considered an asset 



  • Demonstrated understanding of the career development process 



  • Career development practitioner certification an asset 



  • Trained in ASIST, Mental Health First Aid, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, and trauma-informed practice are considered strong asset



Job Skills and Abilities:



  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 



  • Ability to facilitate engaging and experiential group programming 



  • Ability to mediate conflict and support positive group outcomes 



  • Strong problem-solving skills and responsiveness to participant needs 



  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances while maintaining program goals 



  • Strong digital literacy for program delivery and communication 



  • Ability to work respectfully with diverse populations 



  • Strong organizational and time-management skills 



  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation 



  • Additional language(s) is considered an asset 



Additional Information:



  • Criminal Record Check Required 



  • Ability to work across multiple locations in Richmond, BC



  • Participation in mandatory 5-day IM&M - Facilitator Training (January 2026)
