JOB SUMMARY: The Sexual Health Nurse reports to the Manager of Primary Care and works under the Senior Manager of Primary and Clinical Care services, in collaboration with on-site supervision from the Nurse in Charge at the Six Nations Public Health Department.
This role is aligned under the Department of Wellbeing – Primary and Clinical Care Services, with direct operational collaboration and program integration alongside the Public Health Department. The position supports shared goals in health promotion, disease prevention, and coordinated community care.
The Sexual Health Nurse provides specialized, culturally safe sexual and reproductive health services within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse as defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario. This position supports both clinical service delivery and system-level coordination by offering direct care, community education, policy input, and program development. Areas of focus include STI testing and treatment, contraception and pregnancy options, gender-affirming care, and youth and LGBTQ2S+ health promotion. The role is designed to advance equitable access, evidence-based practices, and collaborative integration of services across healthcare partners.
