Job Summary

RBC Global Asset Management ("RBC GAM") is a North American-based asset management firm with global scope and industry-leading investment management capabilities. PH&N Institutional is the Canadian institutional business within RBC GAM, and is widely considered a thought leader amongst investment consultants and institutional clients alike, based on a long-term track record of delivering exceptional investment solutions and service. The Institutional Analyst-intern will have the opportunity to gain insight into how investment decisions are made, and client relationships are managed within the Canadian institutional investment industry through hands-on experience working alongside our portfolio management team.

Job Description

What will you do?

Support teammates in delivering high quality, accurate work within short timelines.

Assist in the analysis and preparation of client reporting and respond to adhoc requests from both internal & external stakeholders.

Research, create and maintain presentation materials (charts, PowerPoint slides, data analysis, etc.).

Update CRM system (Salesforce) to capture key business development activities.

Identify ways to automate and implement process improvements.

Attend internal investment calls/meetings; familiarize yourself with the many PH&N & RBC GAM investment strategies (fixed income, equities, alternatives).

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

Ability to work independently and be self-motivated to meet assigned responsibilities.

Intermediate/Advanced MS Office Skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Ability to communicate effectively and prioritize while multi-tasking during tight deadlines.

Team player with a "can-do" attitude, who is able to work effectively with employees at all levels.

Strong writing skills, and the ability to capture meeting notes and key takeaways for distribution to the team.

Nice-to-have

Experience using Salesforce (CRM).

Previous exposure to Bloomberg.

Ability to speak/write French.

Be returning to school after the work term end-date; or

If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully.
