2025 Souris Credit Union Bursary Application

If you are a Grade 12 student, a member of Souris Credit Union and are planning on attending a recognized post-secondary institution, we are here for you!  To apply for one of six $2000 bursaries please see the eligibility and evaluation requirements below:

Eligibility Requirements:

1. Applicant, parent(s), or legal guardian must be an active member of Souris Credit Union.


2. The applicant must be a full-time Grade 12 student during the 2024 - 2025 academic school year.


3. The applicant must be planning to attend a recognized University or College for the 2025 - 2026 school year on a full-time basis. Please see list of all recognized Universities and Colleges here.

Evaluation Components:

1. Scholarships will be awarded to individuals who encompass a well-rounded character. We are looking for involvement in the community, taking initiative in leadership roles and your overall performance as a student.


2. Consideration will be given to the following criteria:
   
   
   
   • Community involvement
   
   
   • Extra-curricular activities
   
   
   • Career goals
   
   
   • Leadership roles
   
   
   • Work accomplishments while attending high school (if applicable)
   
   
   
   

Application Process:

1. All applications must include the following documentation on hand in order to complete the application:
   
   
   
   • Proof of acceptance to a recognized university or college.
   
   
   • A reference letter from a teacher, employer, community group/organization of which the applicant is a member of/involved in.
   
   
   • A transcript of marks from the educational institution the applicant is currently attending.
   
   
   
   


2. Once the application is submitted you will receive an automated notification through email that we have received it.


3. The application will then be distributed to the Bursary Selection Committee.


4. Only one application per student will be accepted.


5. The scholarship will be paid to the educational institution you have been accepted to and is not renewable.

Application Deadline is May 18, 2025.

By submitting an application for the 2025 Souris Credit Union Bursary, you consent to the following:

Declaration of Applicant:

a) that, to the best of my knowledge and belief, the required information supplied is correct and complete in every respect; and

b) that, any monies issued on the basis of this application will be used only for valid educational expenses associated with my post secondary studies; and

c) that, if for any reason, I do not complete my first year of post secondary studies, I will return any unused portion of my bursary to Souris Credit Union Ltd.; and

d) that, if for any reason, I do not attend university or college in the year the bursary is awarded, the funds, in full, will be returned to Souris Credit Union Ltd.

Photo Release:
I do hereby release to Souris Credit Union, its agents and employees all rights to exhibit this work in print and electronic form publicly or privately and to market and sell copies. I waive any rights, claims or interest I may have to control the use of my identity or likeness in whatever media used. 

I understand that there will be no financial or other remuneration for recording me, either for initial or subsequent transmission or playback.

I have read and understand the foregoing statement, and am competent to execute this agreement.
