POSITION SCOPE:

The Health Promotion Manager is responsible for the health and social community-based promotion and prevention programs and services are offered inclusively to Atikameksheng Anishnawbek. The Health Promotion Manager will assure wholistic approaches to well-being and wellness are implemented within the Health Promotion team’s programs and services. This position will provide strong leadership, mentorship and direction to staff to assure community and organizational plans and strategies are supported and implemented in programs and services.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree in Social Studies or Health discipline


• Diploma in Social/Health Sciences


• Five-year experience in direct prevention programming


• Five-year experience in environmental health industry

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Appropriate health & social promotion topics i.e. nutrition, active living, environmental health, pet safety, mental health and wellness, education and training.


• Promote culturally appropriate approaches to health and wellness.


• Coordinate environmental health assessments and services when required


• Coordinate training, workshops, presentations, etc


• Supervision of Health Promotion Program staff
