Our Firm
OKT’s central philosophy is that there will be no real justice until Indigenous peoples have control over their own fates and futures, including their lands and economic and political decision-making.
For clients who want to use Canadian law as a means to help achieve this goal, we bring to bear our extensive experience working for Indigenous communities and our deep commitment to justice to achieve success – however you define it.
Our Team
OKT’s lawyers have been advocating for Indigenous communities for decades – as lawyers, and as leaders and members of Indigenous communities and governments. We hire team members dedicated to advancing the self-determination and success of Indigenous peoples in a wide range of areas of Canadian law.
The Role
Students are integral members of our team and work directly with partners and associates on matters.
Students are provided with ongoing training, formal and informal feedback. Students are invited and encouraged to participate in all aspects of firm life, including social events, inclusion and diversity initiatives, and community and pro bono programs.
We are looking for students who have a passion for advocating for Indigenous people’s rights and self-determination.
