24-036 Associated Ambulance (Edmonton Inter-Facility Transfer Service): PCP's
Associated Ambulance is currently accepting applications of interest for ACoP Registered PCP's for Full-time positions based out of Edmonton. This position reports directly to the IFT Regional Support Supervisor. The successful candidates will primarily be responsible for providing BLS and non-emergent transport support in the Edmonton Metropolitan region and will participate in a New Hire Orientation before entering the field. This includes a mentorship component with experienced staff members which is valuable for our providers to better adapt to the environments we operate in.
With over 40 years in Emergency Medical Services, Associated Ambulance is the 2nd largest Ambulance Operator in the province. We provide ALS, BLS as well is IFT services to 24 locations in rural Alberta. We have exciting opportunities for Permanent Full-time employment as well as offer casual employment status, for those who require a little more flexibility.

a defined scope of practice that includes the provisions of Basic Life Support (BLS) procedures
IFT staff provide care and transportation for non-emergent patients during routine transport between medical facilities. They may be required to assist patients who are mobility challenged and require walkers, wheelchairs or are stretcher bound. They complete and submit required documentation including patient care reports.
Both PCP's & EMR's are responsible for the cleanliness of the motor vehicles, equipment and ambulance bays. They also maintain the stock of supplies and equipment available in the Ambulances and transport units.
Our PCP's & EMRsmainly transport admitted patients within the hospital setting to another healthcare facility for testing and or treatments. Sometimes the patients are returned to their place of origin or may be admitted at a different location within the Central Zone.
The IFT Ambulance employee plays an important role as a member of the Associated Ambulance inter-professional healthcare team. In the course of their work, they collaborate with other emergency medical personnel, physicians, nurses and other health professionals.
Our team at Associated Ambulance IFT Edmonton spends a lot of time standing, reaching, walking, crouching and bending during their shifts. They are required to lift and transport patients and equipment. At times, they may be in awkward positions while providing assessment and care to ill and injured people. They may be exposed to chemicals, bodily fluids, needle sticks, moving traffic, weather conditions, and other potential safety risks while on the job.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited PCP program and active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP)
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) through Heart and Stroke Foundation will ONLY be accepted.
Must hold a valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's license with an abstract indicating no serious traffic safety violations - abstract will be requested and must be provided to meet hiring qualifications.
Completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test taken no more than six months prior to the start date.

Shift Schedules will be a variety of 4 on/4 off, 4 days per week Mon - Fri 10.5hr (varied schedules), Monday - Friday peak car 8hr
