Job Description - 26-103 - Wellbeing Program Administrator

About the Opportunity


The Wellbeing Program Administrator assesses the needs and eligibility of children birth to eight (8) applying for the Wellbeing Program and supporting them with the application process. The Administrator assists the Wellbeing Supervisor in the delivery of all aspects of the program and services to all regions in the province, as well as assists the Navigation Manager, Early Learning and Child Care with the managing of the financial aspects of the Métis Child Care Benefit Program, including developing and implementing program guidelines in alignment with the Ministry of Education's strategic goals and consulting with both positions.  They ensure accurate and up-to-date statistics are maintained, data collection and reporting efficiently to support evidence-based best practices and monitoring. The Administrator refers Métis families to the MNBC Métis Family Connections resource and referral program, aiding them in the Wellbeing application process and documenting barriers faced by Métis families while accessing Early Years programs and services.


Duties and Responsibilities



  • Assists the Wellbeing Program Supervisor with the day-to-day operations of the Wellbeing program.

  • Develops and implements guidelines within the Wellbeing program, ensuring alignment with the Ministry of Education strategic goals and objectives and working in consultation with the Wellbeing Program Supervisor.

  • Develops and reports on key outcomes and targets and provides up to date and accurate statistics including maintaining an efficient, effective, and integrated approach to service delivery data collection, evidence-based best practices, and monitoring.

  • Refers Métis families to the MNBC Métis Family Connections resource and referral program.

  • Supports Métis families with the Wellbeing application process.

  • Documents barriers for Métis families in accessing Early Years programs and services.

  • Performs various administrative tasks, as assigned including newsletter edits, creation of excel documents, data collection, contacting families and service providers via phone/virtually, answering inquiries regarding Wellbeing. As well as the collection, filing and forwarding of invoices for the Metis Child Care Benefit Program.

  • Processing wellbeing invoices from service providers, including follow up with MNBC finance department, follow up with service provider and family when necessary.

  • Reports on activities to the Wellbeing Program Supervisor as required.

  • Process, data collection, and management of invoicing process for Metis Child Care Benefit program.

  • Participates in committees and project teams as required.

  • Undertakes related duties as assigned, consistent with the job grade of the position. 

  • Other duties may be assigned as needed to ensure the efficient operation of MNBC.

  • Regular/ occasional attendance at meetings/ events that may require work and travel outside of normal business hours.

Qualifications



  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Community Support Work, K-3 Education or related field from a recognized, post-secondary institution.

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in the early years’ field or public-school system.

  • Previous education and/or experience working with children (birth to 8 years) and families.

  • A combination of relevant experience, education, and training will be considered.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to lead, problem solve, and utilize team-building skills.

  • Proven ability to utilize strong interpersonal skills to deal with others effectively.

  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.

  • Proven ability to utilize, adapt and embrace new technologies, including Office 365 and other database/software required by the role.

  • Knowledge and/or awareness of the historical and contemporary contributions made by Métis people in B.C.

  • Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a Class 5 driver’s licence may be required.

  • The position may require the completion of a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
