About the Opportunity


We are seeking a dynamic Academic Account Executive to lead growth of Rocscience’s Academic Bundle across North America and global education markets. Based in Toronto and reporting to Sales Leadership, you will focus on developing partnerships with colleges, universities, and academic institutions while owning the full sales cycle from prospecting through renewal.


This role is ideal for a consultative, relationship-driven sales professional who is passionate about education, technology, and helping institutions equip students with industry-standard geotechnical tools.

This is a vacant role with expected total compensation of $70,000 - $79,500.


Key Responsibilities



  • Drive sales of Rocscience’s Academic Bundle and education-focused licensing solutions to universities, colleges, and technical institutions.

  • Own the full sales cycle from outbound prospecting and inbound inquiries through demos, proposal creation, negotiation, and close.

  • Build relationships with professors, department heads, deans, IT administrators, procurement teams, and university leadership.

  • Develop strategic territory and account plans to expand Rocscience adoption across engineering faculties and campuses.

  • Promote Rocscience software as a teaching and research solution for geotechnical, mining, civil, and geological engineering programs.

  • Manage renewals, expansions, and long-term customer success within the academic sector.

  • Represent Rocscience at academic conferences, campus events, engineering education forums, and trade shows.

  • Use CRM tools (Salesforce) to manage pipeline activity, forecast revenue, and report performance metrics.

  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to support academic campaigns, student engagement initiatives, and faculty feedback.

  • Stay informed on higher education funding cycles, procurement processes, and trends in engineering curriculum development.



What We’re Looking For



  • 3+ years of B2B sales, account management, or partnership development experience.

  • Experience selling software, SaaS, technology, or services into higher education / academic institutions strongly preferred.

  • Proven ability to manage long sales cycles and navigate multi-stakeholder purchasing processes.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and consultative selling skills.

  • Experience engaging technical and non-technical decision-makers alike.

  • Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable managing a pipeline independently.

  • Familiarity with engineering software, edtech, STEM solutions, or technical software is a strong asset.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • Ability to travel periodically for conferences, campus visits, and client meetings.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Existing network within universities, engineering faculties, or higher education procurement.

  • Experience selling to civil engineering, mining engineering, geology, or STEM departments.

  • Familiarity with Rocscience software such as Slide2, RS2, Settle3, or related products.

  • Experience managing renewals and subscription-based academic licensing programs.
