Accounting Manager (Peterborough)

We are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our Peterborough office.

Role (Overview of the Position):

• Manage a portfolio of corporate clients as their key contact, taking ownership of client onboarding and correspondence.


• Lead a team of senior preparers, organizing workflow and allocation of year-end letters and re-engagement initiatives as required.
  


• Review of year-end files (corporation, partnership, sole proprietorship) prepared by team in the Accounting department, including:
  
  
  
  • Client service activities and special projects as they relate to the Accounting department; including exploring additional opportunities with existing clients to further growth.
  
  
  
  


• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.


• Collect and analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems.


• Supporting team members with guidance on file completion and obstacles in the way of meeting output objectives.


• Participate in performance feedback for team members including semi-annual performance reviews. 
  

Qualifications/Skills & Experience:

• CPA designation or equivalent hands-on public practice experience in preparing and completing accounting, corporate tax, and personal tax files for small to mid-sized clients.


• File review experience in a public practice setting;


• Solid knowledge of corporation tax;


• Solid knowledge of personal tax;


• Solid knowledge of accounting & GAAP;


• Confidence in leading client meetings, dealing with client concerns and issue resolution.


• Strong communication and relationship management skills for client and team interaction. 
  


• IT skills – Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Caseware, Profile, TaxPrep, Jazz-It;

Compensation: This position offers a starting salary range of $80,000 to $110,000 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate’s education, relevant experience, and skills.
