Mikisew Group LP is looking for an Accounting Technician to join our Finance team in Enoch, AB. This opportunity is open exclusively to registered Mikisew Cree First Nation (MCFN) members.
In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day processing and control of customer invoices and payments, making sure the organization invoices and collects receivables, on time, and in line with internal policies. It’s a very detail-driven role that sits at the heart of finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Review and approve customer invoices
Resolve invoicing issues and concerns
Provide supporting documentation for accruals and invoices
Post customer payments by recording cash, cheques, and credit card transactions
Prepare journal entries
Meet month end deadlines
Collect outstanding customer balances
Account reconciliations
Participate in financial and vendor audits
Correspondence with site management and administration
Scan and file records
Ad-hoc reporting for both internal and external customers
Other duties as assigned and as may be amended from time to time to meet company/organizational objectives
Eligibility
Must be a registered Mikisew Cree First Nation (MCFN) member
Qualifications
One-year experience in invoicing
Collections experience is an asset
Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel- intermediate and Word skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of the Fort Chipewyan community is an asset
Good mathematical, communication and literacy skills
Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure with high accuracy are essential
Attendance: Excellent attendance is a must
