Job Description - Activity Program Leader - School Aged Programs (South Okanagan)

Lead high quality program planning, incorporating the Y’s values
Maintain safety and supervision in accordance with provincial licensing requirements and standards
Build healthy relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
Actively interacts with children ages 5-12 as a play partner
Support implementation of play based educational programming, including interactive play, literacy, mathematics, science, building, drama, games, team building, daily physical activity, and sports
Participate in YMCA of Southern Interior BC community initiatives
We’d love to hear from people with:
Must be 19 years of age (as per provincial licensing standards) or hold a provincial ECE Assistant Certification
Minimum 20 hours of professional development relating to children’s health, nutrition, safety, development and/or guidance (Responsible Adult Certificate)*
Experience working with school age children
Valid class 4 operator’s license (is an asset)
Valid First Aid Certificate with CPR level B or C

Provide 3 references of a professional nature (e.g. Employer, Supervisor or Colleague)
