Admin/accounting Assistant and Logistics Clerk

Summary:

Cowan Dynamics is a well-established engineering and manufacturing company of Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Electro-Hydraulic Actuators and process control systems. We have an international and diversified client base supported by our sales groups based in Montreal and Edmonton.

In this position, you will be mandated to perform administrative and accounting tasks and manage logistics.

  • Plan and manage logistics – international shipments (ground, air, and sea freight).
  • Issue waybills, prepare shipping documents, and fill out export documents.
  • Coordinate customs activities and communicate with transport companies to ensure general follow-up.
  • Interact with various transporters/systems to ensure the lowest-cost carrier can be found.
  • Liaison with marketing (product/shipment photos)
  • Perform receptions in ERP and office data entry.
  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
  • Prepare accounting analyses and reports (inventory, accounts payable/receivables).
  • Participate in the administration and preparation of external audits, company events, and internal programs.
  • Prepare certificates and documentation as needed.
  • Develop general policies as needed.
  • General administrative support.
  • Backup for Order Entry and Invoicing
  • All other related duties.

Qualifications

  • Similar experience in the manufacturing industry (an asset).
  • 2-3 years’ experience in administration and accounting (mandatory).
  • 1-2 years’ experience in logistics (mandatory).
  • Excellent command of Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and other MS Office suites.
  • Techno-friendly.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and collaborative.
  • Organized, flexible and versatile.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and plan work.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms, HS code system, CERS (an asset);
  • French and English – proficient level required.
