The Beedie School of Business is a top 10 ranked business school in Canada. The Dean's office provides overarching support to the faculty and staff within its Undergraduate, Graduate, PhD and Executive Education Program portfolios. The work of the Leadership Team is complex and sometimes sensitive in nature requiring tact and diplomacy. The Beedie School liaises with external stake holders such as, the Beedie Advisory Board and is various accreditation organizations. The office is a fast-paced environment with diverse needs over three campuses.
About the Role
Provides confidential senior level administrative and secretarial support to the Beedie School of Business Dean and Assistant Dean, External Relations. Interacts with, and provides information to Beedie staff/faculty, Beedie Assistant/Associate Deans, senior SFU academic/staff administrators (i.e., Office of the President, Vice President Academic and other faculties), other academic institutions, accreditation organizations, students, donors and the business community. Arranges and participates in meetings for committees, external advisory boards, business councils and faculty/student events, including agenda coordination/preparation, taking/transcribing minutes, and making arrangements for catering, audio-visual and room bookings. Coordinates all accreditation site visit logistics for internal and external people, meetings, and events.
The ideal candidate would be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while paying attention to detail. The position requires good communication skills, able to exercise tact, discretion and diplomacy. Understands the importance of confidentiality and is comfortable working with a team or independently.
Qualifications
High school graduation and one year of post-secondary education or formal program equivalent with courses in word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet applications, and training in secretarial practices. 4 years of experience. An equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study and experience is acceptable.

Please note: This position is not a hybrid position and are expected to work from the Vancouver and Burnaby locations.
For external candidates, the starting salary is the first step of the salary range.
