Administrative Clerk – Finance Office



Role Description



Position Summary:
The Administrative Clerk supports the financial operations of City Life Church and Highroad Academy by providing accurate, timely, and organized administrative assistance to the Finance Office. This role ensures that financial processes are handled with integrity, confidentiality, and efficiency, contributing to the overall health and stewardship of the organization.



The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, trustworthy, and comfortable working in a structured environment where accuracy and discretion are essential.



Position Details:
• Term: 6-month temporary contract
• Hours: 0.5 FTE (approximately 20 hours per week)
• Future Opportunity: As the Finance Office evaluates long-term structure and operational needs, there may be an opportunity for the role to expand in scope or hours, or transition into a permanent position based on organizational requirements and performance.



Experience & Knowledge Required:
• High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary coursework in administration or accounting is considered an asset)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Comfortable working collaboratively within a team environment
• Reliable, trustworthy, and process-oriented
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters

Wage:
• $20-$25 per hour



Essential Functions & Responsibilities:



1. Financial & Administrative Support
• Enter and organize daily financial transactions
• Process invoices and payments
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions
• Support basic bank and account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end preparation and reporting tasks
• Maintain accurate digital and physical filing systems



2. Office & Team Support
• Provide general administrative assistance to the Finance Team
• Respond to basic inquiries related to payments, receipts, or financial documentation
• Greet visitors and answer phones when required
• Support collaboration between church and school departments



3. Confidentiality & Compliance
• Handle financial and personal information with strict confidentiality
• Follow established internal controls, accounting procedures, and approval processes
