ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT CLERK - PROVINCIAL OFFENCES
Temporary Full-Time
Approximately 4 months
Hastings County has a current vacancy for a Temporary Full-Time Administrative Support Clerk - Provincial Offences in our Provincial Offences Office Department. Under the supervision of the POA Supervisor, provide administrative and clerical support to the POA office, at the service counter, on the telephone or electronically by email. Performs data entry, verification and filing of Provincial Offences ticket filed by various law enforcement agencies. Collecting fine revenue by telephone or in person, using the Provincial database ICON.
DUTIES:
Retrieve certificates of offence/information’s from appropriate files for processing payments.
Process payments for fines, including payments at the service counter and by phone.
Receives and performs data entry for client court option request and files documents.
Provides coverage at the service counter and the telephone, responds to general inquiries and provides necessary information to the public, specifically fine amounts, future court dates, and charge status.
Provides clients with requested POA forms.
Maintain court file records, receiving, processing and distributing court documents
Other such related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
2 year Post Secondary School education in general Business Administration, Justice Studies or Court Support Services.
1-2 years working in a Provincial Offence Administration office environment.
Computer experience in Microsoft applications.
Working knowledge of courts administration and the provincial database ICON.
Proficient data entry, proof reading and excellent customer service skills are essential
Filing and general office administration skills are required and the ability to work with a team and independently is also required.
The ability to work with the public in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment is essential.
Superior interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills are necessary.
The ability to deal appropriately with conflict and contentious situations is required.
The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgement when dealing with sensitive information is required.
HOURS OF WORK: As per Article 19 of the Collective Agreement.
WAGE RANGE: $47,701.96 - $54,608.26 per annum
