About the Opportunity:

We are looking for an Advanced Product Developer, Mechanical, to join our Display Engineering Team. As key member of the team, you will be involved in overseeing the design and development of components and modules for our next generation of LED displays.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with some of the brightest senior-level mentors in the industry and be given an opportunity to shine as part of this exceptional team all while creating products that will be seen by millions around the world
  • Develop complex scalable mechanical systems that require micron level tolerance
  • Design for high-volume manufacturing and cost optimization
  • Lead advanced testing and verification using state-of-the-art facilities
  • Develop a strong aptitude for hands on building and testing of parts and assemblies
  • Responsible for contributing to all phases of development from concept through commercialization

Location: hybrid position based in Kitchener, ON

Qualifications & Experience

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in the design of mechanical devices
  • Proficient in the use of 3DParametric Solid Modeling and the development of detailed engineering drawings using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to provide exceptional client service to both internal and external stakeholders
  • A team player with the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience in multiple design areas such as Machined parts, sheet metal parts and assemblies, mechanisms, injection molded plastic and castings and advanced materials.

Experience in the following is an asset:

  • Component design intended for automation
  • Using DFMA, DFMEA, PFMEA, and Poka-Yoke design tools
  • Mechanical simulation (FEA) tools
  • Statistical modelling and analysis
  • Knowledge of machining, manufacturing, and rapid prototyping techniques
  • Structural, Opto-mechanical, electro-mechanical, and thermal design
  • Ability and preferable experience in working with offshore contract manufacturers
