After School Buddies Committee Members

Volunteer Position

After School Buddies partners with the Boys and Girls Club of Kingston, helping young people discover and achieve their full potential. As a committee executive of After School Buddies, you would have the opportunity to be a supportive role model for children within the Kingston community, positively influencing the life path they choose. In assisting in a variety of programs such as sports, literacy, STEM, arts, and nutrition, you would help children and youth build diverse developmental skills in safe spaces, encouraging and driving young people to grow healthy and engaged. Collaborate with co-chairs, executives, and volunteers, to maintain motivation and enthusiasm within the committee while using our resources to facilitate tangible change within the Queen’s and Kingston communities. After School Buddies executives and volunteers contribute to commission-wide events and network with like-minded and passionate individuals.

Time Commitment

8 month-term from September 2025 to April 30th, 2026 with a time commitment of 2-3 hours/week.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Director of Logistics
  • Plan and organize After School Buddies events, focusing on sports, literacy, STEM, arts, and nutrition programs. This includes including scheduling, equipment setup, planning activities, arranging transportation needs.
  • Collaborate with co-chairs, executives, and volunteers to ensure successful event execution and participant engagement.
  • Purchasing materials needed for outreach days at BGC.
• Director of Finance
  • Manage the budget for After School Buddies, ensuring funds are allocated effectively to support various programs and events.
  • Oversee financial records and work with the committee to secure funding and sponsorship opportunities.
• Director of Volunteer Coordinator
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support After School Buddies programs and events.
  • Maintain communication with volunteers, ensuring they are motivated, informed, and properly supported in their roles.

• Director of Partnership and Fundraising
  • Participate in outreach events to support the After School Buddies committee and assist with event operations.
  • Collaborate with After School Buddies executives to develop lesson plans and activities.
  • Attend bi-weekly meetings to ensure that the current needs and goals of the After School Buddies program are being actively addressed, fostering the well-being of the committee.
