Job Description - Alberta Territory Sales Manager

Location : Home-based in Alberta

Our client is a Canadian company that sells a wide selection of post-patent crop protection products to agricultural retails across Canada. They require a Territory Manager to call on independent AG retails in Alberta.

As their new ALBERTA TERRITORY MANAGER, you will spend your time planning, prospecting, meeting and selling to your AG retail clients. When you are selling to AG retails who already know you, most of the work can be done electronically, (i.e. phone, video, email, text. etc.). When you are building relationships with new and potential new customers, face-to-face meetings will be required.

You will have several competitive advantages to offer your AG retail customers including: bigger product selection, better logistics, a stronger business infrastructure, the ability to provide private labels and better pricing to name a few.

To be considered you must have prairie-based agricultural wholesale or agricultural retail business experience, basic broad acre agronomy skills and good AG chem product knowledge. Established contacts in the Alberta AG retail community and the ability to “get in the door” is a definite asset. That said, the most important thing we are looking for is attitude. This is a pure sales role, with lots of autonomy and a huge untapped market to develop. To be considered you must be a tenacious self-starter with a proven track record and a genuine interest in the long-term success of your AG retail customers.

As the new Alberta Territory Manager, you will report directly to the Country Manager. Our client (ACPI) is a small Canadian business that is owned by a huge well known international parent company. You will enjoy the flexibility and informal autonomy of being small, while taking advantage of the infrastructure, volume discounts, and large product mix offered by a large enterprise.
