The Analyst for Commercial Operations Services is responsible for providing timely and accurate information to internal and external customers with respect to revenue-based and volumetric transactions at our Canadian and US Terminals and Pipelines.

What You'll Be Doing 

  • Prepares, executes, and manages invoicing for all Canadian and US Terminal and Pipeline assets and contracts.
  • Responsible for ensuring all public Tolls and Tariffs have been invoiced to customers for all Canadian and US Terminal and Pipelines assets.
  • Investigates, resolves, and communicates invoicing differences with internal and external counterparties.
  • Helps to manage Invoice Disputes by liaising with Schedulers, Business Development and Marketing
  • Interprets and is responsible for executing the terms outlined in the Terminal Service Agreement (TSA).
  • Provides monthly volume and invoicing estimates for forecasting financials. 
  • Responsible for actualizing all facility gains and losses financially settled annually based on the TSA.
  • Performs month end balancing procedures for all Gibson Energy Canadian and US Terminals and Pipelines with a commitment to high quality customer service and accuracy.
  • Prepare, analyze and distributes Weighted Avg Financial Differential Factors required to settle commercial contracts monthly for equalized streams at Edmonton and Hardisty.
  • Prepare and distribute Invoices, Producer Statements and Shippers Balances for crude settlement in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manages volumetric movements for different commodities including crude oil, condensate, LPG and butane. 
  • Regulatory reporting to Federal, Provincial and State government bodies for all Canadian and US assets. 
  • Acts as liaison with other business units and external customers.
  • Cross train on various Commercial Operations tasks to support the growth and continuity of the team. 
  • Assists with the development and testing of applicable software and enhancements. 
  • Performs ad hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

  • Post-secondary degree in Business or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant experience. 
  • Knowledge of Canadian Midstream Oil Infrastructure. 
  • Knowledge of Crude production would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Synthesis application system and related software considered an asset. 
  • Experience in software testing and implementation considered an asset.
  • Strong Excel skills are required.
  • Exhibits knowledge and the ability to analyze information and solve problems under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively interact both orally and in writing with customers, business unit and field personnel.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work conscientiously and efficiently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to be customer oriented and build strong relationships.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and works well in collaboration with others. 
  • Ability to be self motivated and act as a team player. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong time management skills.

  • Calgary Head Office based position.
