Full-Time Animal Attendant (Including Overnight Shifts) – North Shore Veterinary Hospital

About the Role

This is a hands-on position that includes a combination of day and overnight shifts, providing essential care and monitoring for our hospitalised patients outside of regular hours. This role is ideal for someone passionate about animal care and maintaining high hospital standards in a busy veterinary hospital environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing hospital wards for incoming patients

• Cleaning cages, bedding, and patients as required

• Maintaining exceptional cleanliness and hygiene throughout the hospital

• Feeding patients according to veterinary instructions

• Walking hospitalised patients at scheduled times

• Assisting veterinary nurses with daily duties

• Monitoring patients for any unusual or concerning behaviour and promptly reporting concerns

• Providing attentive overnight monitoring and ensuring patient comfort and safety

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Reliable, proactive, and able to follow direction while working autonomously

• Comfortable working overnight shifts and maintaining high standards of care independently

• Compassionate and respectful in their approach to animal care

• Confident with strong written and verbal communication skills

• Well organised with excellent time management abilities

• Adaptable, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills

Currently studying or having completed a Certificate II or III in Animal Studies is highly regarded; however, we welcome applications from all candidates with a genuine passion for animal care.
