Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nIn this role, you will be responsible for promoting and supporting Eaton\u2019s electrical products, assemblies, and services to consulting engineers, specifiers, and key end\u2011user decision makers. This is a professional technical sales role focused on achieving sales goals through specification positioning, supporting overall sales and channel efforts, and exceeding consultant and end\u2011user expectations. The emphasis is on growing profitable order volume across all product lines by influencing projects early in the design phase while expanding Eaton\u2019s presence and specification position within the industry. This position coordinates and implements overall sales strategies with a strong focus on consultant engagement and front\u2011end project development. \n \nSales \u2013 Implement sales plans and growth strategies, to achieve annual performance objectives. Prepare and present sales proposals and value propositions to satisfy customer needs and expectations. Understand, and be responsive to, market conditions and competitive activities. Promote Eaton products and services to optimize sales volume, product mix, and profitability. Assist with layout and design control and monitoring systems using Eaton\u2019s assembly and component products to provide customer solutions. Provide technical assistance to customers and channel. \n \nCollaboration \u2013 Achieve team Orders and Sales goals. Maintain co-operative and credible working relationships with internal personnel, to consistently exceed customer expectations. Prepare sales presentations to create product/service/solution understanding and awareness. \n \nCustomer Relationships \u2013 Interface with Electrical Consultant Principals and Lead Electrical Engineers, as well as Facility Engineers. Conduct product training to expand customer, consultant and channel knowledge. Develop bid strategies and quotations for customers using price and delivery guidelines, applying sound business decisions to enhance sales volume and margins. Identify customer needs and prepare value propositions to satisfy customer expectations. \n \nPerform all job functions with adherence to Eaton\u0027s Philosophy and Values as well as Safety and Environmental standards.\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nWhat will make you successful? \n \nThe Application Engineer manages all aspects of the business relationship with consulting engineers, providing sales and technical assistance to consultants, designers, end users, and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate is an agile learner, self\u2011directed, and enjoys a fast\u2011paced sales environment. They understand the importance of consultant relationships, specification strategy, pricing, and organizational alignment to deliver effective support to internal and external partners. They will have strong electrical product knowledge with the ability to write and support technical specifications for new projects, with a primary focus on driving specification positioning and influencing project design decisions that lead to downstream sales success. \n \nWe are looking for candidates who are diverse in their backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, and who can bring fresh and innovative ideas to our team. \n \nRequired (Basic) Qualifications: \n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Engineering or Technologist Diploma. \n\u2022 Minimum of five (5) years of technical experience in the electrical industry. \n\u2022 Possess and maintain a valid drivers license. \n\u2022 Must be authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future. \n\n \nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree in Electrical Engineering\n\n\u2022 Professional Engineering License (P. Eng) \n\u2022 Previous sales experience \n\u2022 Strong knowledge of Eaton electrical products, related services, and competitor offerings \n\u2022 Extensive experience with medium voltage and low voltage assemblies \n \n\n\n## Skills:\n\n\u2022 Ability to assist consultants with layout, design and budgetary estimate using Eaton\u2019s assembly products and component \n\u2022 Initiative and self-management skills \n\u2022 Value selling experience \n\u2022 Excellent presentation and communication abilities \n\u2022 Presentation and training skills \n\u2022 Understanding of selling techniques and Eaton\u2019s capabilities \n\u2022 Technical knowledge regarding the application of Power Distribution and Control products \n\u2022 Demonstrated ability to interface with Electrical Consultant Principals and Lead Electrical Engineers, EIT\u2019s as well as End Users \n\u2022 Possess knowledge of products, markets channels and associated applications \n\u2022 Ability to travel up to 25%\n\nThis posting is for an existing vacancy. \n\nAt Eaton we leverage artificial intelligence to recommend jobs to you that match the skills and experience required for the open role.
