Job Description - APPLY NOW! Pet Groomers and Animal Care Workers NOC 65220 Jobs In -Demand

Dematting and detangling hair as required
Work with cats and dogs most often, but may also care for other animals, depending on the work environment
Bathing, conditioning, and drying pets
Give food and water to animals
Trimming pets’ nails, brushing their teeth, and cleaning their ears
Clean equipment and the living spaces of animals
Grooming and styling pets according to pet owners’ instructions or standard grooming styles
Monitor animals and record details of their diet, physical condition, and behavior
Accommodating special requests that pet owners may have
Examine animals for signs of illness or injury
Identifying health issues in pets, such as ear infections, skin conditions, or tooth decay, and informing pet owners of these observations
Exercise animals
Ensuring that all pets are safe during the grooming process
Bathe animals, trim nails, clip hair, and attend to other grooming needs
Recommending suitable products to pet owners
Train animals to obey or to behave in a specific manner

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Certification through the National Dog Groomer Association of America is advantageous.
Proven professional grooming experience.
Sound understanding of animal behavior.
The ability to stand for long periods of time.
The ability to treat all animals with compassion.
The ability to lift heavy pets and equipment.
Excellent communication skills.
Exceptional customer service skills

Benefits

Salary: $16.00 - $24.23 per hour
