The Apprenticeship Coordinator will play an integral role in supporting both our apprentices and the wider team through a wide range of administrative and pastoral duties.
The Apprenticeship Program plays a vital role in building the shipyard's future skilled trades workforce by supporting apprentices throughout their development journey. Through the coordination of on-the-job learning, trade rotations, technical training, examinations, mentorship opportunities, and individualized learning supports, the team ensures apprentices gain the hands-on experience, knowledge, and skills required to become certified journeypersons. By fostering a culture of learning, growth, and career development, the Apprenticeship Program helps shape the next generation of skilled trades professionals who will contribute to the long-term success of the shipyard.
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
